The Cooperation Day, which is hosted yearly by the initiative ChemCologne, is a great occasion for young chemists to get selectively in touch with chemical companies from the region. Siegwerk also used the opportunity to address young academics as an attractive potential employer.
The ChemCologne Cooperation Day took place on July 9 in the University of Cologne. At this annual event, which has taken place already for the 12th time, companies from chemical and chemistry-related industries came together with regional universities to inform young academics about their research, operations and career entry opportunities. Many young chemists approached the Siegwerk booth to make inquiries of career chances, but also for technical discussions with Siegwerk experts.
With a team from HR Business Support (Daniela Kern, Elke Prein and Vanessa Küllmer) and the assistance of the technology experts Daniel Drochner (BU Print Media) and Nikolai Vinokurov (BU Flexible Packaging), the Siegwerk booth was well-prepared for professional discussions in both fields.
“With this event, we have not only taken the opportunity to boost our reputation as a potential employer,” said Kern, team leader HR Business Support for Siegburg. “We were also approached by professors of the regional universities who enjoyed the ‘shop talks’ with our technology experts. This way, we further strengthened our contacts with the universities, which we have been building up over the past years with scholarships and informational events at our site.”
