Steve Walker Joins Hydrite Chemical As R&D Manager

Hydrite Chemical Co. has announced the appointment of Steve Walker as research and development manager for graphic arts. Mr. Walker will spearhead new product development and process improvement, as well as technical service.

Mr. Walker, a 30-year veteran in the coatings industry, has held several technical positions in the coatings market, most recently as vice president of technology at Nicoat, where he oversaw new product development and technical service functions. He also spent 16 years at Morton International/Rohm & Haas, where he developed water-based acrylic polymers and resins used in the ink and coating industries. Mr. Walker has also provided extensive customer technical service support and was the liaison with production scale-up and manufacture of the Lucidene, Morcryl and Morez product lines.

“Steve Walker is the final piece of the puzzle that will enable Hydrite to bring our graphic arts business to the next level with regards to new product development. Steve has the proven experience with water-based acrylic polymers and resins that will enable Hydrite to expand our successful product portfolio,” said Terry Chomniak, business manager graphic arts.
