Ink solutions that help screen and digital printers run more efficiently and improve quality are on display at Sun Chemical’s booth at SGIA 2007.
Sun Chemical’s product portfolio of inks, coatings, and equipment found at SGIA booth 922 include the only formable UV hard coat system on the market for Hi-tech automotive parts, a new UV ink system for transparent windows that eliminates the need for protective masking, a new UV inkjet printer for narrow web and label applications, and digital bulk-feed systems for a variety of wide-format presses.
In keeping with its emphasis on sustainable solutions, Sun Chemical’s SGIA presence has been transformed into a customer-friendly environment designed to renew and restore visitors’ energy and business outlook, and reinforce the theme of sustainability.
“Our customers are operating in highly competitive markets. Sun Chemical is focusing its innovation on delivering new solutions for screen and digital printers that help them eliminate steps in the process and avoid waste,” said Greg Lawson, group president, Sun Chemical. “Our solutions help customers turn jobs around quicker while providing the highest level of quality output.”
Screen printers attending SGIA will be introduced to a new ink system solution that holds up better to the high heat and immense pressure used in manufacturing formable plastic parts. At SGIA, Sun Chemical will launch the MTG UV hard coat system for use in making formable and non-formable automotive, appliance, cell phone, and medical parts. The MTG-FORM is the first and only formable UV hard coat system available on the market.
Screen printers will also get their first look at UV Trans, a new UV ink system that gives screen printers the ability to print on transparent windows. Geared toward the Hi-tech and automotive industries, UV Trans has outstanding scuff resistance and protects the windows after printing, eliminating the need for protective masking and saving manufacturers money.
SGIA visitors will be able to learn about SolarJet, Sun Chemical’s latest generation UV inkjet printer recently launched at LabelExpo in Brussels in September. Designed specifically to benefit the growing short-run, narrow-web labels market, SolarJet offers an innovative solution for printers and converters to produce shorter print runs quickly, cost effectively and without sacrificing quality.
Manufactured in association with Imaging Technology International (iTi) of Colorado, SolarJet offers printers an economically viable solution for print runs of 10,000 labels or fewer, freeing up their flexo presses for the higher-volume jobs. It also has the added benefit of being able to print variable data, such as text and barcodes, which is particularly beneficial in Europe, where versioning is common for multiple languages.
Streamline S-Tech, SCP and SCP Plus, Sun Chemical’s new digital bulk ink feed systems for wide format Mimaki JV3 solvent ink printers, Seiko Color Painter 64/100 printers, HP 9000/1000 printers, and the Océ 6060/6100 printers, is an easy-to-use, cost-saving system for continuous printing applications. Mimaki JV3 printers are used by approximately 8,000 commercial printing operations in Europe. Another 2,000 printers in Europe use either the Seiko Color Painter, HP 9000/1000 or Océ 6060/6100.
S-Tech is an ancillary system that gives printers the freedom to adopt Sun Chemical's range of Streamline solvent digital inks, realizing the cost savings of using a value-for-money bulk ink product.
