The award recognizes manufacturing facilities’ voluntary commitment to outstanding performance and their accomplishments in implementing and maintaining a strong EHS&S program.
The Muskegon facility wins the award for the second consecutive year, marking the plant’s sustained improvement and commitment to safety. Highlighted as a best practice on the SOCMA website, the plant’s emergency response team partners with the local fire department to host regular training events in the production facility.
“In a time when the industry faces various economic challenges, the employees at Sun Chemical Performance Pigments maintain focus on the importance of safety, both in the workplace and for the community,” said Eldon Fink, Sun Chemical’s director of environmental, health and safety. “By instilling in our employees responsible best practices, we equip them to make safe and responsible decisions. We are grateful to SOCMA for recognizing this company-wide dedication with this award.”
