Sartomer Company increased the prices of its monomers, oligomers and photoinitiators as of Sept. 1, 2004. This announcement follows an earlier price increase, which was effective June 1, 2004.
According to Paul Elias, Sartomer’s business director of specialty products, the price increase is due to the rapidly rising costs of raw materials and energy as well as increased packaging costs.
Specific increases are as follows: standard acrylates and epoxy acrylate oligomers increased by 14 cents per pound; all other acrylates and oligomers will increase by 10 cents per pound; and methacrylates increased by 8 cents per pound.
