Pantone, Inc. and the China Textile Information Center announced a licensing agreement to co-brand and co-market the Pantone for fashion and home color system as an integral part of the China National Color System (CNCS).
Pantone for fashion and home in association with CNCS represents the most widely recognized color standard in the world. The system consists of more than 1,900 chromatically arranged colors in cotton or paper format.
“This is a new beginning for China’s color industry,” said Sun Ruizhe, president of the China Textile Information Center and China Textiles Development Center. “In order for China textile manufacturers to compete in a worldwide market, we need a color language that is understood on a global basis with tools that are readily available. Our partnership with Pantone is a critical step in this effort.”
“Pantone is honored to become an integral part of the China National Color System,” said Lisa Herbert, Pantone’s executive vice president of fashion and home. “We are pleased that our universal color language and tools will be able to help China, with its immense resources and capabilities, achieve success in the global textile manufacturing marketplace.”
Pantone will train China textile professionals on color management.
