The Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has taken on a new name: The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association.
“In today’s marketplace, ‘business as usual’ means constant evaluation and improvement SGIA is moving forward to anticipate and provide the tools imagers will need to assess the marketplace and their operations,” SGIA president Michael Robertson said.
The SGIA Board of Directors voted for the revised name, citing the direction the imaging industry is taking and factors affecting SGIA members each business day.
“Customers are looking for creative applications and efficient, effective imaged solutions – and SGIA members are in exactly the right position to provide both,” Mr. Robertson said. “The outlook for success is excellent, especially if you are well-informed and prepared to make the right decisions for your company and your customers.”
“Specialty imaging” comprises screen printing, digital imaging and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they'll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies used to create products including point-of-purchase displays, signs and advertisements.
