Rohm and Haas has announced a list and off list price increase, effective April 1, or as contracts allow, for all of their acrylic copolymer emulsions, vinyl acetate containing polymers, solution polymers, stryene containing polymers and additives sold to all customers in the graphic arts, coatings and other industries in North America. The increase on acrylic copolymer emulsions, solution polymers, styrene containing polymers and additives ranges from 5 percent to 8 percent, per wet pound. the increase on Rovace and Res Vinyl acetate containing polymers is $0.035 per wet pound for a 55 percent solids emulsion and $0.04 per wet pound for 65 percent solid emulsions.

The increases are needed to cover the continued increases in raw material costs, according to the company.

Additionally, effective March 15, 2003 through June 15, 2003, Rohm and Haas will implement a temporary energy related surcharge of $0.015 per wet pound on all products sold. This increase is needed to offset the continuing escalation in energy costs.
