International Specialty Products (ISP), Wayne, NJ, and Polymer Chemistry Innovations (PCI), Tucson, AZ, formed an alliance to manufacture, market and distribute Aquazol polymers for use in industrial markets such as digital printing and imaging (DPI), adhesives, oil and gas, metal treatment, ceramic binding and household, institutional and industrial (HI&I).
Effective April 1, PCI is the exclusive worldwide supplier of Aquazol to ISP, while ISP has exclusive worldwide rights to market, sell and distribute these products.
This strategic alliance brings together the manufacturing expertise of PCI, while leveraging the global ISP network of sales and marketing professionals. ISP's Performance Chemicals business has been promoting PVP into these markets as first-generation polymers. In addition to ISP’s ViviPrint product development in digital printing and imaging, the addition of Aquazol will add to the development of second-generation products for this market.
“This partnership offers a strong synergy based on PCI’s oxazoline manufacturing excellence and ISP’s global presence in the industrial markets", said Pierre J. Varin, global marketing director for coatings and adhesives. “ISP can now offer a broader range of technologies to various customers who formulate ink jet receptive coatings, hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives, metal treatment applications or ceramic binding applications.”
