In August 2001, Color Mate, Inc., Gastonia, NC announced the opening of its second location in Mt. Holly, NC. Color Mate was established in 1990 and has been producing aqueous black dispersions for the textile, printing ink and paper industries. The new operation will produce aqueous color dispersions, targeted toward the printing ink, paper, lumber, coatings and agricultural market places. The new group will be called Color Mate Dispersions, Inc.
Don Buckner, president of Color Mate Dispersions, said they have hired Edward Foster, who was formerly with Environmental Inks and Coatings, as their operations director. Sales will be handled by Global Color and Chemical Corporation of Hilton Head, SC and Dagraph Corporation of Hamilton, OH.
Color Mate Dispersions will offer a full line of organic pigment dispersions in acrylic- and surfactant-based formulas. Special color matching and formulation-specific services will also be offered. Color Mate, Inc. has also partnered with Ets Andre van Lerberghe of Kortrijk, Belgium to market its line of aluminum and bronze metallic pigments and pastes.
