The award-winning team, led by Ted Deisenroth and Marlon Haniff, demonstrated the success of a new chemical concept to increase water, grease and oil repellency. Together with the other award winning researchers, they created a platform of novel molecules based on this new chemistry and suitable for a variety of applications.
The first product, launched in 2000, was a grease repellant for fast food packaging, Ciba Lodyne 2000. A second product, Ciba Lodyne 2010, specifically designed for pet food packaging, is currently being introduced, and further products are to follow.
