Flemington, NJ-based U.S. Bronze Powders, Inc. has announced the opening of a new 3,100 square foot technical center for corporate research and development at the U.S. Aluminum plant in Haskell, NJ. According to the company, the center, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2001, will focus exclusively on the development of innovative products and process optimization to help customers formulate new and improved products with metallic flake pigments.

“As newer technologies such as waterborne, 100% solids and UV/EB cured systems become more and more widely used, formulators are looking to their raw materials suppliers for increased technical support,” remarked Clive Ramsey, president of the U.S. Bronze Powders Group. “When it comes to metallic pigments, we want our customers to know that our company is committed to helping them develop higher value-added products that provide them with a competitive advantage. Our new technical center is staffed by professionals utilizing leading edge analytical tools, and spending virtually all of their time exploring innovative ways to improve our customers’ product quality and productivity.”

In addition, the technical center will also support all of the group’s metallic pigment manufacturers worldwide, which include U.S. Bronze Powders, U.S. Aluminum, Canbro (Quebec), and Shamrock Aluminum in Waterford, Ireland.
